Comprehensive Dentistry

The role of dentistry is not just to fix and replace teeth. It is a means to an end, not an end in itself. Our goals are optimal comfort, function, health and esthetics with stability and longevity for all the structures of the masticatory system. These structures include the temporomandibular joints, muscles, teeth, periodontal support structure and the bite itself.
It is the role of the dentist to examine the entire masticatory system and assess its' current status, make a diagnosis and develop a lifetime personalized treatment plan that will achieve these goals. This quite often requires the expertise of dental specialists and it is part of our role to coordinate treatment from various specialists as needed to achieve the desired results for our patients.
Once the optimal results are achieved with a comprehensive approach, it is quite remarkable how little future dentistry is needed. Unexpected appointments to deal with dental emergencies are minimized.
We will repeat the comprehensive evaluation on a periodic basis that is appropriate for you. Using this mutual and comprehensive partnership type of approach to your individual care, we can certainly reach our goals of optimal comfort, function, health and esthetics.
